LED tech has virtually swept the market in the last several years, and only appears to be growing in affluence over time. Using a 

0-10V dimmer in conjunction with an already-efficient LED system is probably the best kind of application such a dimmer can have, 

and one of the reasons they are used in this capacity more and more today. Though fluorescent dimming options still incorporate 

this innovation, the energy inefficiency of fluorescent lighting is slowly phasing it out.

We’ve talked a lot about 0-10V dimming but now lets just run through some of the benefits to using 0-10V dimming especially with 

LEDs.  We specifically reference our VT-C331 0-10V Dimmer that we have talked about throughout this post.

It is great for retrofit applications as you are able to use the 0-10V systems that are already set up, cutting down on retrofit 

costs.

Our 0-10V dimmer(VT-C331) is compatible with all 0-10V and 0-5V current sourcing LED drivers.

Large 0-10V dimming systems already in place in commercial applications because it is the IEC Standard.

Allows smooth dimming all the way down to whatever percentage the driver or ballast is limited to. 5% and when you go below that 

it shuts of the power so as to not run your LEDs longer than needed.

It is compatible with most daylight and occupancy control systems so works hand in hand with efficiency.

Ambience is often a significant reason for choosing a dimmable fixture because it allows your lighting to become multi-purpose 

tool, aiding a range of activities that require different light levels. Restaurants and hotels often use dimmable fixtures in 

their seating areas to create an atmosphere or ambience at night. Additionally, dimming features are also used in sports courts to 

provide appropriate lighting for different levels of play and sporting activities.

LEDs are controlled through current. When a dimmer is used to control its light intensity, it also reduces the power being fed to 

the LED, resulting in less energy being used. Less energy used equals more money saved, and extended LED lamp life.

0-10v dimming drivers for LEDs allow you to create lighting to suit a mood or activity through a reliable technology. Controlling 

light intensity through a dimmer is directly related to the current being fed to the LED and when you dim your lights, you also 

reduce the power and as a result of this, your lamps will remain efficient.
